Avalyn Laurel Oak is a fast-growing native semi-evergreen tree with a compact pyramidal habit.  In the South its rich, shiny green willow-like foliage holds on until the new growth starts to emerge.  Best grown in full sun and rich, well-drained soils.  Tolerates drought.

Quercus hemisphaerica is a host to several moths and butterflies and its acorns are an important source of food for wildlife.
