Persian Spire Ironwood is a small deciduous tree with a narrow upright columnar habit an exfoliating bark. The dense colorful foliage emerges a rich deep purple and darkens to a glossy dark green with purple edging as it matures before turning vibrant shades of yellow, orange, and red for fall. The tiny attractive red flowers bloom early spring before the foliage emerges. Best grown in full sun and slightly acidic, well-drained soils.
