Main Street Shantung Maple is a midsized deciduous tree with a dense rounded pyramidal crown. The large triangular 5-lobed leaves emerge reddish-purple and mature to deep green before turning brilliant orange-red with the occasional purple in fall. Small non-showy umbels of yellow flowers bloom mid-spring followed by samaras. Grows best in rich and moist well-drained acidic soils.
