Northern Belle Magnolia is a smaller hardy evergreen tree with an upright habit, oval crown, and deep green foliage.  Its large sweetly fragrant white flowers bloom in late spring and may repeat in summer.  Best color in full sun and moist, slightly-acidic, well-drained soil.  Tolerates both drought and wet soils.

Magnolia virginiana is a host plant for the Tiger, Spicebush, and Palamedes Swallowtail butterflies as well as the Sweetbay Silkmoth.  The seeds, sap, and nectar of attracts pollinators and small mammals as well.
